Method one: submit a copyright/DMCA claim from within YouTube
- Identify the content that you want to report as a copyright violation.
- Click on the three-dot menu icon located next to the video that contains the infringing content.
- Select "Report" and then click on "Copyright claim."
- Follow the on-screen instructions and fill out the form with the necessary information, including your contact info, the infringing content's URL, and your proof of ownership of the copyrighted material.
- Include a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Submit the form, and YouTube will review your request and take appropriate action.
Method two: submit a copyright/DMCA claim through YouTube’s web form
- Navigate to YouTube's Copyright Webform.
- Fill out the form with the necessary information, including your contact information, the infringing content's URL or search term, and your proof of ownership of the copyrighted material.
- Include a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Submit the form, and YouTube will review your request and take appropriate action.
Submitting false DMCA notices can result in legal action, so make sure you have a good-faith belief that the material is infringing on your copyright, or the copyright of someone you are authorized to represent, before submitting a DMCA notice.
